A New Molecule Leads to a Major Breakthrough.

With sheep farmers around the globe growing increasingly concerned about worm resistance, many animal health companies had begun the difficult search for a new approach to worm management. Scientists at Zoetis discovered a completely new molecule that worms had never been exposed to before.

This new molecule, now known as derquantel, is the first member of a new class of anthelmintics - the spiroindoles (SI).

Zoetis scientists took their discovery a step further by combining derquantel with abamectin, providing the industry with a powerful and broad-spectrum combination drench to control even the most resistant worms.

As the first combination drench of its kind, STARTECT® (Derquantel+Abamectin) encourages sustainability for future generations.

The future of worm control starts here.
